Great progress today. In the morning we determined that the building model was not clean enough to generate renderings. To fix this we will separate the model into "parking," "inside," "outside," so that we can isolate the facade and show renderings from within (see screencapture).
Current model is one contiguous piece, walls go inside and outside, floor slabs are contiguous inside and out.
Spent time in the afternoon studying an instruction manual for Jakob Planted wall cable systems and catalog of appropriate climbing plants. Then we created new master layers and reoganized the existing building model elements into appropriate "inside" and "outside" layers.
There is a layer per material (60%grey, 20%grey, Stainless Steel, Primed Steel, etc.) per floor.
So layer "Z2-60%G" contained in "Z-OUTSIDE" master = all exterior objects on the 2nd floor that are 60% grey.
By the end of the day we had all of the existing model seperated into appropriate master and sub layers. Tomorrow we will need to draw new exterior decks on "Z-OUTSIDE" and divide up the strippy wall per floor. We also will work more on the detail sections of the strippy wall.
The goal of all of this is to make a coherent package of drawings and images to describe the exterior of the project. All of the elements exist in the model, the challenge now is to produce clean colored elevation and perspective renderings with complete landscape and materials.
