My team has been working with Frances Gonzales and the Santa Monica Solid Waste Division to resolve our
Trash Area.
Based on the existing site condition and the location of our elevator/resident lobby, the Solid Waste Division
recommended placing the trash area off of Arizona Avenue and using the existing 10' driveway for trash
loading/unloading ONLY.
Advantages:
*Proximity to Resident Lobby
** Much easier for Solid Waste Staff to stage trash collection from Arizona
*** Not sharing a driveway with the underground parking eliminates traffic congestion issues during trash
collection. Trash Collection will occur 2-3 times a week.
Attached is the proposed Site Plan. Solid Waste strongly prefers this configuration and is against using
the Sixth Street Driveway for Trash Collection. Note that we are closing over 11' of driveway on Sixth Street and
repairing the sidewalk.
The attached is the best plan for the site. Let's make this configuration work.
